When I first started in mlm it didn’t take me long to figure out I was not going to build an MLM downline using conventional methods. I  never intended on bugging my friends and family about my opportunity right from the start. I knew the little ol’ list of friends and family was a waste of my time. I had a bigger vision than that anyway. First off, the internet was the natural choice in marketing. Number two I was on a very tight budget. I don’t know about you but there was no way I was going to get into pay-per-click advertising, no thanks! I would go broke before I got started.

I soon found many different methods of building a MLM Downline on the Internet it made my head spin. After a few months of  bouncing around with different methods, one thing led to another and I found out how to combine blogging, article marketing and search engine optimization techniques, oh yah and video marketing. I know it’s a mouthful and it is a lot of work, but I had more time than money. The cool thing is all the bouncing around I did with different methods ended up being the stepping stones to success! After that I knew I had to learn all the techniques of getting my website ranked so that people could see me. So, nothing else mattered after that. I began the process of learning the principles and methods of driving traffic to my blog. I am a firm believer in finding what method of marketing suits you and laser focus on it and go after it with everything you got!

So enough about me. More about what practical steps you can take to succeed in your mlm downline building. The first step is to get a blog setup for yourself. It doesn’t matter if you use social marketing methods like facebook, twitter, ect. You still should to have a place that you can send people to see what you have to offer them. There are different types of blogs including free ones. I personally like WordPress Blogs the paid and hosted kind not the free versions. The reason being is that it is yours and you have complete control over it.

After getting a blog set up the next step is driving traffic to it. There are principles that drive traffic to site that first need to be understood. I will quickly list them: relevancy, popularity, original content and social media outlets. Then there are methods that drive the traffic your way. There is Article marketing, video marketing, social media, social bookmarking, press releases, and even offline strategies. Pretty much wherever you can get links back to your blog.

I can’t tell you how important it is in the MLM business to bring value to people. Writing article is a wonderful and probably one the most effective way of building a MLM downline on the web. You can distribute your articles with relatively inexpensive tools and are used to rank your blog or your youtube videos higher up in the search engines. There are also tools that submit your videos and articles to various places and also help rank your blog so more people can see it. Blogging may not be for you. However, it can be a great way to bring people into your mlm downline.

Really there is way too much information to go threw to explain each one of these concepts in an article. I just wanted to give a good foundation for you to understand what is available to you online and maybe provide you with a good place to start. It seems overwhelming at first but once you understand the principles and methods that can drive traffic it will become natural to you. In the end you will build a massive mlm downline.
